DICT Focuses on Digital Government Delivery Workshop After a Successful Pacific ICT Ministerial Dialogue
Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has successfully hosted the first of its kind, major regional meeting, the Pacific ICT Ministerial Dialogue at APEC Haus back in August 28 – 29 and is now preparing to host another major workshop for Heads of Government Agencies and Digital Transformation Officers (DTOS).
The meeting yielded the Lagatoi Agreement for Digital Transformation of the Pacific, which the participating Pacific Island countries essentially will share insights and best practices for improvements in ICT of the Pacific.
As ICT becomes a key driver in economic growth in more progressive countries around the world and plays a critical and cross cutting role in government agencies, the Government of PNG through DICT is committed in achieving Digital Government.
The Policy work and the legal guidelines such as the Digital Transformation Policy, National Cybersecurity Policy, Government Cloud Policy and the Digital Government Act 2022, are set in place to guide the Digital Government Plan 2023 – 2027 of PNG.
DICT is now set to host another major event, The Digital Government Delivery Workshop 2023, which will equip public sector leaders and digital transformation officers with the knowledge, skills, and insights required to advance the digital transformation agenda of Papua New Guinea.
The coming Digital Government Delivery workshop will ensure Participating Government Agency heads and Digital Transformation Officers align with the foundation policies, legislation, and the MTDP 4 to enhance capacity and capabilities of their respective agency in delivering digital services to citizens.
